Delete your account
Effective date: 28 April 2026
You can ask us to delete your BlockFit account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to make a request, what data we delete, what we have to keep, and how long it takes.
For full detail on retention and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
1. How to request deletion
Email support@blockfit.co.uk from the email address registered on your BlockFit account, with the subject line “Account deletion request”.
You do not need to give a reason. If we can't identify you from your email alone, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity before processing the request — this is to protect you from someone deleting your account without permission.
We aim to acknowledge your request within 3 working days and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with UK GDPR Article 12.
2. What we delete
When we process your deletion request we remove:
- your account profile (name, email, profile photo, fitness preferences);
- your saved payment methods (we never store full card details — these live with Stripe);
- your saved Studios, favourites, and class history shown on your account;
- your in-app messages with Studios (within 90 days of deletion);
- your marketing preferences and any non-essential analytics identifiers tied to your account.
3. What we keep, and why
UK law requires us to retain certain records even after you ask for deletion. We keep the minimum needed and store it in a restricted form that's not used for any other purpose.
| Data | Retention period | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Booking and payment records | 6 years from the end of the relevant accounting period | HMRC record-keeping and tax obligations |
| Account record (restricted) | Up to 12 months after deletion, then anonymised | To handle disputes, chargebacks, and legal claims |
| Email suppression list | Indefinitely | So we never email you again after you opt out (required by PECR / UK GDPR) |
| Records relevant to legal claims | Up to 6 years from the dispute | Limitation Act 1980 contract claims period |
4. Studios you booked with
When you booked a class, the relevant Studio received your name, contact email, and booking details. After delivery, the Studio is an independent controller of that data and must handle deletion requests under its own privacy notice. We can't delete it on the Studio's behalf, but we're happy to point you to the right contact — email support@blockfit.co.uk and we'll help.
5. Cancelling instead of deleting
If you only want to stop receiving emails or pause your account, you don't need to delete it. You can:
- turn off marketing emails in Settings → Notifications;
- revoke location permission in your device settings;
- sign out and stop using the app — your account stays inactive until you sign back in.
Deletion is permanent and can't be undone. If you change your mind after deletion, you can sign up again, but we won't be able to restore your booking history or saved preferences.
